Current Advances in the Treatment of Anorexia Nervosa
The psychological treatment in anorexia nervosa (AN) is discouraging. Although, to the extent that the objectives of the treatment are a logical corollary of the conceptualization of the disorder, it is urgent to critically reassess the assumptions that underlie the current conception of the AN. This is the case of body image disorders. After five decades of overwhelming predominance, it is time to question the role of body image disorders and explore new perspectives for the understanding and development of effective treatments in anorexia nervosa.
